Traditional patch leads are not set up to transmit the amount of button data required for analogue learning-style units and this can cause problems, especially for vehicles with many different buttons or scroll wheels. With the SMARTLEAD, the analogue range is extended and optimised for the stereo, allowing all of the steering wheel buttons - including wheels and dials - to be programmed to the users’ chosen functions. Simply connect the smart patch lead to the interface and the vehicle, access the SWC learning mode on the stereo, and program the steering wheel controls buttons as desired.

Self learning mode, programmable

The SMARTLEAD was designed for Alpine and Blaupunkt aftermarket radio and this has worked with other brands of Learning radios and Chinese radio but it has not been tested with all brands of Chinese / Learning radio so we cannot confirm if it will work with all radios. If the MULTILEAD has failed to reproduce the steering controls and if the radio has 'Key 1', 'Key 2' and KeyGND (if there is no KeyGND on the radio harness then the 'KeyGND' of the patch lead can be connected to Ground / Earth).
